About the Artist

I am originally from Madrid, Spain and immigrated to the United States in 1987. I now live in Virginia and have studied art at NOVA Community College, The Arts of Great Falls, the Torpedo Factory in Alexandria, and various workshops in the US and in Europe.

My love for art began at an early age and has continued to grow throughout the years along with my passion for improving my work. Throughout my learning, I have found inspiration in a wide range of subjects including landscapes, cityscapes, people, figures, and still-life. In addition to painting in my studio, I combine my love of art with my love of the outdoors as a member of the NOVA Plein Air Artists group and the Loudoun Sketch Club. While painting outdoors can be challenging at times, the ever-changing details of light, atmosphere, and weather are an additional source of inspiration for my paintings.

I view art as a way to offer external viewers my perspective on a subject; to see the world the way I do. I hope the excitement I feel in capturing my subjects on canvas transfers to my viewers for their enjoyment.

Nací y crecí en Madrid, España y emigré a los Estados Unidos en 1987. Ahora vivo en Virginia y he estudiado arte en NOVA Community College, The Arts of Great Falls, Torpedo Factory en Alexandria y en varios talleres de arte en los Estados Unidos y en Europa.

Mi amor por el arte comenzó a una edad temprana y ha seguido creciendo a lo largo de los años junto con mi pasión por mejorar mi trabajo. A lo largo de mi aprendizaje, he encontrado inspiración en una amplia gama de temas, incluidos paisajes, paisajes urbanos, personas, figuras y bodegones. Además de pintar en mi estudio, combino mi amor por el arte con mi amor por el aire libre como miembro del grupo NOVA Plein Air Artists y el Loudoun Sketch Club. Si bien pintar al aire libre puede ser a veces un desafío, los detalles siempre cambiantes de la luz, la atmósfera y el clima son una fuente adicional de inspiración para mis pinturas.
